Our History

The San Diego Choral Club was formed in 1939 by a group of community-minded women interested in music and service.  The group was a major social- and service-oriented choir. The group held teas and luncheons, performed in various venues, and supported promising young vocal students with scholarship awards.

Choral Club of San Diego (“CCSD”) was formed in 2012 in order to carry on the musical and service traditions of San Diego Choral Club.  CCSD performs a variety of music including classical pieces, show tunes, standards, spirituals and modern pieces.  We sing in parts (1st Soprano, 2nd Soprano, 1st Alto and 2nd Alto).  In addition to supporting promising vocal students, we give back to the community by bringing music to the elderly and seeking collaborations with other nonprofit organizations which contribute to the San Diego community.

We are looking for talented, dedicated women who love to sing, want to contribute to the community and who possess sufficient voice quality and musicianship to learn individual parts, sing on key, and blend effectively with the group.  We hope you will want to join us. And bring along a friend!
